DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS ANIMATION WAS CREATED:

I typed out a bunch of scene code, rendered the frames, and slapped them
together with an MPEG compiler, just like I always do.

I had originally intended a different kind of arm for Joe, but I couldn't get
things to look as cool as I wanted. So I did what you see here. The red
cross is not hard-coded into the model, but can be replaced with any square
graphic if I were to re-use the model.

The animation you see here was not the original conception; due to some
serious attacks of Real Life I only had about six weeks to work on this, and
had to drop three or four shots (getting lauged at by friends, falling into a
pit, waking up, usw).

The distortion at the edges of the view is accomplished by adding a normal
statment to the camera. Very simple.
