IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

A 3D extension of the Sierpinki Gasket approximated by 260,000 spheres in
a glass globe.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

POV-Ray 3's while loop was used to create the Sierpinki Gasket, which is
approximated by 260,000 spheres. I would have liked to be able to use more
spheres in order to obtain a smoother result, but memory was insufficient.
I also tried blobs, and while the result was excellent, it rendered
extremely slowly and thus was impractical on my slow P5-100.

The lens flare/sparkle effects were created with Nathan Kopp's lens flare
"plugin" for POV-Ray.

The hills in the background were created with gforge and added to the POV-
Ray scene as a height-field.
