IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

'In a dark and damp dungeon, a strange machine is making evil creatures of
blood.'

The whole thing started with the cover of Marillion's album "This strange
engine".
After modeling the engine I realised that in the right surrounding this could
compete in the "magic" topic. Of course there should be a lot more stuff in the
dungeon to make the picture really come alive, but this will have to do for
now.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

(Just a few comments)
The machine is quite simple CSG except for the wheel, that's made of blobs
(it was difficult to make, but turned out quite well).
The floor of the dungeon consists of randomly displaced superellipsoids.

The flame is a halo, of course, that is translated towards the bottom
of the container sphere to make the lower edge sharp.
The blood creature is a bunch of blobs with a two-layered texture and an
intersection of toroids make up the teeth.
The jagged edges of the table was done by subracting cones that's been scaled
to a shape similar to the tip of a knife.

You should render DUNGEON.POV to get the whole scene, but it's possible to
render
the other files separately too.
