IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

What toy does an Architect play with when they are a child ? In my case it was
Lego.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The entire model was first built in real Lego prior to it being input into the
computer.
I found the Lego in the garden shed at my parents house. They had not thrown it
out when I
left home.

Once I had the real model complete I wrote a simple INC file to create the
standard block types
by simply providing the length, width and height variables. Prior to writing
this file I had found
an extensive collection of Lego blocks created by Anton Raves. While these
models covered the
type of blocks I wanted to use they were written in a way that I could not use.
How ever I did
base my pigment definitions on Anton Raves as they were excellent and resembled
the real Lego
textures very accurately.

One of the things I did notice with the old lego was that there were a lot of
teeth marks on some
of the pieces. It was the desire to model the teeth marks that led me to write
my own Lego block
INC file. The file is included in the ZIP file.

Once the basic Lego blocks were created I simply assembled the various pieces
based on the real
Lego Model.

Finaly some effects were added. A Chris Colefax Lens Flare, along with an
atmospheric spot light
and some standard radiosity settings.
