IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

I was sitting up at some silly time in the morning, unable to sleep, trying to
find something to watch on TV, wondering about what to do for this
competition.....

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The floor is a height_field of a random noise GIF created in PaintShop Pro. This
gives it a rougher texture than just using normals.

Most of the objects around the room, and the room itself are simple boxes, cones
and cylinders.

The TV and clock are mainly made using superelipsoids.

The lightshade has a filter of 0.5 to tint the light in the room.

The sofa was modelled entirely in Spatch.

The person was originally modelled in Poser, converted using Crossroads and then
imported into POV. However, what looked a good model in Poser, ended up as a
very heavily faceted figure in POV. It looked like someone chiselled out of
rock !

I scrapped this, and used a height_field to produce a face. The hair was made
using a marble texture, turbulence 1, and a number ( about 100 !) spheres.

I then made a crude body out of cylinders, using the Poser model to get the
correct proportions.

This was then clothed (by that best man's outfitters) Spatch. A rather
convoluted process which involved doing some modelling in Spatch, exporting,
rendering, checking for fit, remodelling etc.

PS.
I do really own a pair of fluffy dog slippers, with big red nose, and very comfy
they are to !
