IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
A school of fish taking night classes.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

I created the fish "by hand" with stretched spheres with a mandel pigment.
To see one up close, create a simple POV file including THEFISH.INC,
add "object{ FishBody }" and render. Oh, and un-comment the eyes first!

The schools of fish were created with MKS awk, some trig and calculus.
(I JUST upgraded to POV-Ray for Windows with it's great trig functions.)
The awk script positions N fishes in a circle along a multi-cyclic sine wave,
rotates them to line up with their neighbors, then outputs to NIGHT.INC.
I've created a HUGE FLC animation wherein the fish appear to follow each
other
along the sinusoidal paths and the ocean waves move.

  The moon is actually a light_source that looks_like a sphere with LUNATEX.TGA

  image_mapped to it.

The glow around the moon is just a 70% transparent z-plane with a bluish
cast,
placed directly behind the moon sphere.

The starfield is distant z-plane with STARBACK.GIF image_mapped to it.

The ocean is a simple y-plane with filter/waves/frequency/reflection
tweaking.

  Viva POV-RAY !!!
