IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
    I come from 'pure' art-from-math-on-the-computer until I
started reading about the fractal nature of nature and discovered POVray.
I am new at the whole idea of raytracing but feel comfortable with the
level of math needed to play with POVray ... makes me feel right at home.
This, then, is my idea of taking the concept of "the fractal beauty of
    nature" to its logical conclusion.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The lovers, birds flying and island are height_fields created from gifs
    generated with Fractint.
The rock is a mesh generated with Frgen.
The palm tree is a csg. The leaves are a scan of a pic of a local palm with
the background erased using Paint Shop Pro, then image mapped onto a clear
     sphere.
The sky is imaged mapped with a moon pic I took with tele lens. The photo
was no where near what I saw through view finder ... so, really goofed
around
with it in PSP before using in POV :).
Dolphins are mesh object freebie downloaded from Avalon ( I think).
