IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
This is mainly modelled on my Mum's garden, with a little
input from mine

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

All I can say is I'm glad I invested in a new PII before this competition
started, as the parsing times are horrendous !

I'm not a gardener, in fact I got in trouble the other day for putting weed
killer on the mint plants and letting the nettles live ! Its all green stuff to
me.

So the plants are (I'm reliably informed)

Big orange/yellow things in plant pot. Lilys (Novo Cento)
Blue things in walls. Forgetmenots.
Pink curtain hanging over wall. Wort
Assorted ferns/shrubery (no-one knows what's what)
Tall bluish-purple; Delphiniums
White "daises". Asters
Moss (in the patio, I think I should have weeded this out)

Lots of objects (about 61300) so I'll rattle through this. Most objects make
heavy use of a slight random translations/rotations eg bricks, petals, leaves
to give a more "real" less generated feel to them.

All soil is height_Fields. Big plant pot is some CSG unions/diff/rotations.
Texture has granite as a normal to give it the rough look.

Lilys: Petals modelled in Spatch, rotated to give flower. Stamen (almost
invisible) are a mix of cylinders. Leaf taken from petal model, with excess
patches cut out. Hardest part was getting the texture on the petals to be
correct. The buds are just some cones/spheres

Forgetmenots: Flower made of 5 scaled cylinders. 5 flower heads on a stem. About
10 buds on each stem (not really visible in the picture just part of the
overall green leafage), 3 stems in a plant. 50 odd plants translated / rotated
at random to give bed of flowers.

Wort: Flower is same as forgetmenot, but coloured Maroon. Set on a bed of 3
leaves (another scaled cylinder) translated at random down the wall.

Asters: Long x scaled cylinders rotated, around a flattened sphere.

Dark Green Bushes: Used a bozo texture with high turbulence, and lots of Clear,
and a while loop. Generated about 300 spheres of varying sizes and
rotated/translated them at random. Its actually very quick to generate / parse

Moss: Same idea as for bushes, but using different colours and only a few
spheres

Ferns: lots of little cylinders gradually rotated as they were translated to
give the leaf shape. Leaves positioned at random to make a plant.

Dead tree: Modelled in Blob Sculptor. Broken bit is a height-field. Bird house
is a few boxes.

Delphiniums: Those flattened cylinders again for the petals. Leaves were made by
drawing a crude leaf shape in Paintshop, saving as a gif and using as an
image_map with 100% tranmit on colour 0.

Ants: On the patio - basic spheres / cylinders, but too small to see detail.

Bees: Blobby body, thin gray filter on wings

Thats all for now

Thanks
