IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

Toco Toucan. Native of South and Central America. Mostly lives in Rainforests.
Diet is mainly fruit.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

My first idea for the 'nature'subject proved, after some experimenting, to be
too difficult. So I went 'browsing' through Fractint hoping for inspiration. I
noticed that a zoom on the Fractal 'escher' in green tones had a rain forest
'look'. So that became the background.
What lives in rain forests? The Toucan seemed a good subject. The plant in the
scene is "Povrayvia-Imaginata", a rare rain forest plant probably liked by
Toucans.
The whole image is 'by hand'. I use CSG mainly because the fancier things are a
bit beyond me.
The Toucan is mostly spheres with feathers of scaled discs. The plant is mostly
toruses, clipped, scaled, etc. A plane with a partly transparent Bozo pattern
is between the light source and the subject to give dappled effect like the
light through upper foliage.
The Pov file is included if you can follow it. Some parts were arrived at by
trial and error so the result is a bit messy.
POV file is included as toucan.zip
