IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

Recently I've been to Dhigufinolhu, Maldives. So the image could also
have been named "Visit to Maldives", but I prefered "visit fish" because
it's shorter and because maybe some people don't know what, who or
where the Maldives are. In short: The Maldives are coral reef islands
southwest of India and their soccer team was the worst in the world cup
98 qualifiers. Eh, well, what I wanted to tell you is that it's a very
good idea to travel to the maldives and dive into the underwater world.
What you will see, is of course much more fantastic then any artwork can
show. But I wanted to give it a try.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The fishes are made of stretched sphere segments and triangles. I spent
a lot of time to get realistic textures. The Moorish Idols (the black,
yellow and white ones) are the best, I think. The corals are not so
realistic, but they look nice. I used lparser for two or three of them.
Finally, it took some time to get the caustics and the texture of the
seafloor. Note that the seafloor is gray, while the water is blue, not
vice versa.
