Contents of this zip file:

partized.pov	- the main scene file.
partized.ini	- ini file to render partized.pov
hf.pov - renders the height field for the water in the boxes.
hf.ini - ini file for hf.pov, obviously.
sea_surface.inc	- Defines the various sea like textures used.
splash.inc - a splash macro.
closeup.jpg - Test render of the splash to check it's material, looked so good I kept it!
readme.txt - Pink Elephants.

Explanation of how to render the scene:

Running hf.ini will produce the heightfield needed for the sea in the boxes. I didn't include the png file I've been using, 'cause it's 6.5MB. Change the resolution if you don't want it to take up too much disc space, but keep width and height equal to each other.

partized.ini renders the final scene, note that it uses a 2.5:1 ratio (i.e. width=2.5*height), don't change this unless you change the corresponding value in the source file. Before you do this you probably want to edit the source file (partized.pov) and turn off focal blur by changing the appropriate line to say "#declare blur = off". You can turn off "full" as well, which just simplifies all the textures and objects in the scene, but that looks a bit ugly!

If pov complains that it can't find "nkflare.inc", then you can either just comment out the line where it #includes it, or you can download the appropriate files from Nathan Kopp's web site (at time of writing this is http://nathan.kopp.com/nkflare.htm).

That should be it. If you have any problems you can contact me at the address below.
BTW, I'd love to hear from anyone who actually likes the scene enough to download the source :)
