IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

On Bodmin Moor, in Cornwall (England), there stands a lone rock known
as "The Piper".
It is said to be the form of a Piper who displeased a local witch and
was turned to stone for his trouble.
There is nothing in any direction for over a mile, and when the low
cloud drifts in over the moor, then the Piper must be the loneliest
rock on earth.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The short version:
I messed around with the (new) isosurface object...

The long version:
The Rock itself is just a sphere function added to a multi-fractal noise
function.

The Grass is just a plane (where y=0) with a different noise function
added in, that has been exaggerated in height.

Add in some Fog and a shadowless light-source, and that's it.
