IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

Loneliness is a so powerful feeling...it may makes you feel like if you were far
away from
everything else in this world, just like if you were trapped in a glass cover as
in the
picture. Trapped in your own world!

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

It's my first IRTC submission and one of my first 3D modeling so I learned a lot
by creating
this picture. But what I found the most difficult is that Bryce cannot deform
objects (like
bending and all stuff like that). So I had to deal with this and to use a lot of
boolean
operations to create everything I needed.

First of all, the globe's base is made of stacked tori, shaped with negative
tori. The kind of
claws which hold the globe are made from tori again, cutted by a negative
sphere. The mountains,
trees and sky are made with Bryce's terrain editor, tree lab and sky lab (all 3
are very nice
tools). The haze/fog in the sky is a cube big enough to include all the scene
with volumetric
smoke material. For the globe's reflexion, I used a spotlight instead of adding
some
specularity for a more realistic effect. Finally, the tower is basicly a
cylinder. The bending
illusion is created with a very big torus as well as for the kind of triangle
shaped figures
above windows.

I also added a bit of lighting from inside the glass globe for the tower's
exterior and some
lights had been putted in each flame (you can see the light yellow color
appearing on the
tower's sides).

Since Bryce is a 3D landscaping software, I don't recommend it to create such
kind of picture.
