IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

I tried to render one of those Beads'n'Wires thingies my daughter has.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

I have been actively rendering since May-June of 2004.
When the subject of this IRTC was announced, I immediately knew what I would be
rendering.
I took some pictures of my daughter's toy and started working out how to do
this. Halfway
down the road I got ill for a while and couldn't work on the project for quite
some time. In
October I re-started work again. The difficult part was to get everything to fit
on the
wooden board and for all the wires to connect up just right. The red and green
wires are made by
sticking parts of tori and spirals together. The blue wire is made of using the
sphere_sweep
technique that I discovered near the end of this project.
The image was rendered at 1024x768 pixels with an anti-aliasing threshold of
0.1.
