IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

I remember what is was like to be a little kid; it had a certain feeling to it,
something that I can only describe and feel by contrast to what I am like now.

It can be summed up in that one phrase, The Age of Innocence.
Everything was so full of wonder, so full of joy. No hatred, no sorrow.
Simplicity. Everything glowed with care and love.
If only life would be that way forever!
I remember summers playing outside, calling out the shapes I saw in the clouds,
catching fireflies and grasshoppers, and imagining who I would be we I grew up.

Bubble machine, an old beach ball, crystal blue skies and the smell of freshly
cut grass, that is what I_ll remember most when I'm gray and old, what in my
mind will always stand for the age of innocence.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

-Aspect ratio: Modified standard INI file in order to render using a 1.777
aspect ratio, HDTV. Also altered standard INI file to allow finer antialiasing
(bubble surfaces were rendering kinda wrong).

-Sky: Standard color ramp with a fractal noise pattern standing in for clouds.

-Objects: Bubbles are just one declared object repeated a bunch of times, moving
them all over the place to create the bubble spray. Bubble texture includes
iridescence to simulate soap film; Rubber ball is a standard sphere with a
color map copied from the "textures.inc" include file. Airplane is a commercial
3ds mesh (from www.deespona.com, bought in a combo box from Taschen), converted
to POV Mesh using Crossroads v1.0.

-Camera: Includes focal blur for depth and blurring of objects (the latter for
dramatic effect, sort of like the photography in the movie "Minority Report").

-Lights: Only one standard light; scene photons and radiosity are in use.

The image was converted from bmp to jpg using Gimp 2.0.
