IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

Toys and Games - how about toys playing games ?! Several toys look on as the
plastic bath ducks play water football.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

Everything was modelled from scratch mainly using Art of Illusion's triangle
mesh editor. Luckily, having 3 young kids, I have plenty of reference material
for the toys! The water was a simple cube with a bump map applied.

The foam was created by modelling the volume with triangle meshes and applying a
transparent texture and a foam-like procedural material (in Art of Illusion,
textures define surface properties and materials define inner properties).

The taps had been created for an earlier project of my son, Jack's. So he
should take some of the credit for those! The lion toy between the taps is his
favourite toy, 'Little Lie', which I attempted to re-create as realistically as
possible.

All textures were procedural. Texture parameters in conjunction with layered
textures were used to control texture placement on the models.

The scene uses an HDR image for the background environment map - to give the
reflective objects something to reflect. There was only one light in the scene
and rendering was performed with soft shadows. I tried rendering using the HDR
image as the light map with global illumination but couldn't get the look I was
after.

I used PaintShop Pro to adjust the final brightness/contrast slightly.
